Collaboration
Armquill makes it easy to work with others on your documents in real-time.
Inviting Collaborators
- Open your project in the editor
- Click the Share button in the toolbar
- Enter your collaborator's email address
- Select their permission level (Editor or Viewer)
- Click Invite
Your collaborator will receive an email invitation with a link to the project.
Permission Levels
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control: edit, manage files, invite/remove collaborators, change settings, delete project |
| Editor | Can edit files, create/delete files, compile documents |
| Viewer | Read-only access, can view files and download PDFs |
Real-Time Editing
When multiple people are editing the same document:
- You'll see colored cursors showing where others are typing
- Changes sync instantly across all connected users
- Conflict resolution is handled automatically
- The presence indicator shows who's currently online
Managing Collaborators
As a project owner, you can:
- Change roles: Upgrade a Viewer to Editor or vice versa
- Remove access: Remove a collaborator from the project
- Transfer ownership: Make another collaborator the owner
Comments
Leave feedback without changing the document:
- Select the text you want to comment on
- Click the comment icon or press
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + C - Type your comment and click Post
Comments are anchored to specific text positions and will move with the text as the document changes.
Best Practices
- Use comments for feedback rather than inline edits when reviewing
- Coordinate on who's editing which sections to avoid conflicts
- Compile regularly to catch errors early
- Use meaningful file names to help collaborators navigate
