Templates

Templates help you start new projects quickly with pre-configured document structures and styles.

Using Templates

When creating a new project, you can choose from available templates:

  1. Click New Project on the dashboard
  2. Browse or search available templates
  3. Click on a template to preview its structure
  4. Click Use Template to create a project based on it

Available Templates

Armquill includes templates for common document types:

Academic

  • Article: Standard academic paper with sections, figures, and bibliography
  • Thesis: Multi-chapter thesis with front matter and appendices
  • Report: Technical report with cover page and table of contents
  • Presentation: Beamer slides for academic presentations

Professional

  • CV/Resume: Professional curriculum vitae
  • Letter: Formal letter template
  • Invoice: Basic invoice template

Other Formats

  • Typst Article: Simple document in Typst
  • AsciiDoc Book: Multi-chapter book in AsciiDoc
  • Markdown Report: Basic report in Markdown

Institution Templates

If your institution has partnered with Armquill, you may have access to institution-specific templates that follow your organization's formatting guidelines.

Institution templates appear in a separate section when creating a new project and may include:

  • Pre-configured styles and formatting
  • Required front matter and sections
  • Institution logos and branding
  • Bibliography styles

Template Tips

  • Read the template's README file (if included) for usage instructions
  • Don't delete package imports unless you're sure they're unused
  • Customize the template to your needs - it's just a starting point
  • Check if your institution provides official templates before using generic ones
